The upcoming Friday will be the day which will be remembered for centuries. On this day the world will see the longest lunar eclipse of the world, which will remain for one hour 45 minutes. This day is going to be special for astronomers too. The moon will be under the influence of this eclipse for about four hours in this astronomical event going to be held in midnight on 27th July. On this day, Mars is also coming closer to the Earth. Astronomers of the whole country are very excited about the lunar eclipse
This is such an event when the star gazer around the world will get the chance to see the red moon like blood. This condition occurs when the moon is completely in eclipse and due to sunlight the red appears to be visible.
Astronomer Brad Tucker of the Australian School of Astronomy and Astrophysics at Australian National University, said that the moon is not always in complete alignment with the sun and the earth, so we do not get to see the lunar eclipse in every moon cycle. He further said that we see that even after Sun Moon is 35000 km away, sunlight and sunset gives light to the surface of the moon. If you are on the moon then you get an opportunity to see the solar eclipse when the earth comes directly to the sun and it completely covers.
This lunar eclipse is also special because it will appear in the whole world except North America. But it will look the most beautiful and beautiful in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa and Asia. This will be the second chance this year when blood moon will appear at the time of eclipse.
Why does the red moon look like blood?
Astronomers say that the reason that the lunar eclipse is called a 'blood moon' is its color which changes completely during this period. Actually, when the earth comes between sun and moon during the lunar eclipse, the sun's ray is stopped. Due to the atmosphere of the Earth, light turns on the moon and because of this, it is red. When the entire lunar eclipse occurs then there is blood moon.
This long eclipse is going to appear after 150 years. It will start at 11 pm and 54 minutes at the middle of the night at 1:20 pm and the eclipse will end on July 28 at 3:00 pm. Thus the total duration of the eclipse will be 3 hours and 55 minutes.
